Con el propósito de proteger la vida de las personas con discapacidad visual al momento de cruzar una vía, la Administración Municipal de Dosquebradas modernizó la red de semáforos a través de la instalación de modernos dispositivos sonoros en 23 de las 24 intersecciones de la ciudad.

“Gracias al apoyo brindado por el Alcalde, venimos desde el año 2020, contando con los recursos necesarios para atender todas las necesidades ciudadanas en materia de seguridad vial. Esta no es sólo una iniciativa que beneficia a la población en situación de discapacidad, también a la población en general, ya que a las intersecciones les fueron instalados semáforos de 12 pulgadas que permiten una mejor visibilidad”, explicó la secretaria de Tránsito y Movilidad de Dosquebradas, Ángela Jazmín Hidalgo.
Otro elemento incorporado por esta tecnología, son los contadores indican el tiempo restante para el cambio de señal. Algunos de los puntos impactados son toda la Avenida Simón Bolívar y la Avenida del Ferrocarril, donde se encuentran las intersecciones a la altura del barrio Santa Isabel y la otra en el sector de Maracay, en el Campestre D. De igual manera en la Variante Turín – La Popa, en donde están las intersecciones de Jota Gallo y La Badea, así como en el barrio San Fernando, Milán y La Pradera.
En el sector de La Popa, a la altura de la Iglesia Ministerial, se recuperó dicha intersección que había presentado algunos daños. De estas intersecciones sólo queda pendiente la de La Aurora, que será intervenida en el transcurso del presente año.
