“Decir nos vamos del Área Metropolitana es muy fácil, como decían los abuelos, ‘del dicho al hecho hay mucho trecho’, pero es una opinión que hay que respetar”. Así lo consideró el director del Área Metropolitana Centro Occidente, AMCO, Nicolás Betancourt, refiriéndose a la propuesta del concejal de Dosquebradas, Óscar Mauricio Toro, de realizar una consulta popular para retirar al municipio industrial, de la entidad.
Implicaciones
El funcionario, que hace apenas una semana asumió la gerencia del Área Metropolitana señaló que antes de tomar una decisión de esas hay que mirar las implicaciones que conlleva, primero es revisar y analizar lo que verdaderamente representa hacer parte de la entidad que integra a Pereira, Dosquebradas y La Virginia, “yo creo que desde que se creó el Área nos sentimos juntos los tres municipios y la muestra es que si estamos en el centro de la capital y abordamos un taxi para que nos lleve al CAM en Dosquebradas, el vehículo si no tiene ningún contratiempo allá nos lleva y viceversa, eso se puede hacer porque estamos integrados, no solo en el transporte individual, sino en el público metropolitano y el colectivo”, añadió Betancourt.
Reiteró que el Área Metropolitana sí le ha cumplido a Dosquebradas, lo que ha faltado es comunicación, los anteriores directores con su equipo técnico han hecho una gran labor dedicando su trabajo a cumplir el objetivo como es la planificación de carácter metropolitano.
En cuanto al tema de movilidad y falta de rutas, el director del Área, precisó que ya se hicieron los estudios técnicos y se está a la espera de una reunión conjunta con el nuevo gerente de Megabús y los alcaldes recién posesionados de Pereira, Dosquebradas y La Virginia y darle trámite a los proyectos de mejoramiento del transporte.
De igual manera explicó Betancourt, qué en el municipio industrial, desde el Área se viene haciendo un acompañamiento a las veredas en los proyectos productivos y acciones emprendedoras; de igual manera están participando en la planificación de los Planes de Ordenamiento Territorial.
¿Quién pierde?
Fue enfático en afirmar que en un eventual retiro de Dosquebradas del Área Metropolitana, la que pierde es la comunidad, “pero eso no va a suceder, yo sé que los concejales son juiciosos y ellos lo que quieren es el beneficio de las comunidades y desde este despacho vamos a demostrarle a los dosquebradenses que con Catastro Metropolitano van a saber que es el AMCO”, concluyó.
Tal como lo pidieron los concejales de Dosquebradas, antes del 30 de junio del presente año se conocerán los primeros resultados de la gestión del nuevo director del AMCO, cuando los habitantes de Dosquebradas a través de una plataforma digital podrán mirar al municipio desde el cielo, con un acompañamiento georreferenciado.
