Oficialmente presentó renuncia este miércoles 30 de mayo, a menos de dos meses de terminar el período de 4 años como representante a la Cámara.
Salazar Peláez le confirmó a Geonoticias.Net, que su decisión la tomó con la responsabilidad que le asume para iniciar un proyecto político con el cual participará en las próximas elecciones locales, donde se elija al sucesor del actual alcalde Juan Pablo Gallo.
Fue enfático en afirmar que renunció al Congreso para no quedar inhabilitado por el partido Conservador, ya que para participar en la contienda, lo hará por un movimiento significativo de ciudadanos y la ley exige como plazo máximo un año antes de las inscripciones para renunciar al partido por el cual había sido elegido, congresista, es decir que el próximo 20 de junio sería la fecha límite, pero lo hizo desde ahora para no dejarlo para última hora.
El segundo en lista para ocupar esa vacante es Diego Naranjo, pero seguramente ya no lo hará, teniendo en cuenta que faltan pocos días para la posesión del nuevo Congreso de la República.
