Al ser detectado en Santa Rosa de Cabal, el segundo caso de sarampión importado de Venezuela, el gobernador de Risaralda, Sigifredo Salazar Osorio, indicó que se determinó la alerta amarilla en la red hospitalaria del departamento.
No obstante, según el mandatario seccional, para el municipio de las Araucarias se tiene Alerta Roja y se espera del Instituto Nacional de Salud un nivel de alerta para el territorio. De igual manera, Salazar Osorio invitó a padres y cuidadores de niños menores de cinco años a revisar si tienen completo el esquema de vacunación, ya que esta es una enfermedad inmunoprevenible donde Risaralda cuenta con un alto índice de cobertura del 95 %.
“Ya la Secretaría de Salud departamental venía trabajando desde el año anterior por una alerta del gobierno nacional por la población que estaba llegando al territorio colombiano y en este caso risaraldense, sobre todo población venezolana que cuenta con las bajas coberturas en salud, lo cual podía generar un problema; este año llegó otra alerta en febrero para empezar a atender aquellas enfermedades como Sarampión que podía llegar de Venezuela. Sin embargo, nosotros tenemos una cobertura del 95 % en vacunación y estamos trabajando para poder vacunar ese 5 % que falta”, aseguró el Gobernador.
“El pasar a la Alerta Roja es darle la posibilidad a los alcaldes para que puedan contratar, obviando la restricción por las garantías electorales, el personal que se necesita para poder apalear la crisis que se pueda presentar. Pero no puede haber pánico, porque contamos con muy buena cobertura del 95 % y Santa Rosa está en el 98 %; o sea Santa Rosa está muy bien y solamente falta el 5 % departamental; aquí tenemos una Secretaría de Salud departamental muy juiciosa y otras municipales también”, agregó el Gobernador.

Sobre otro caso posible de Sarampión en Santa Rosa de Cabal el director de Salud Pública departamental, Diego Alejandro Rincón, aseguró que no lo hay y menos de un adulto mayor, como se rumora en algunas redes sociales.

Pero no tenemos un segundo caso sospechoso”, puntualizó el funcionario.
