Pese a la contingencia, deben continuar con los controles prenatales y seguir las recomendaciones para evitar el contagio por Covid-19.
Sensibilizar a las madres gestantes para que continúen sus controles prenatales con base a las rutas de atención destinadas por las entidades prestadoras de salud, es el objetivo del llamado que hizo la Secretaría de Salud Pública y Seguridad Social de la capital risaraldense.
En tal sentido, Paola Andrea Saldarriaga, coordinadora del Programa Salud Sexual y Reproductiva de la Secretaría de Salud y Seguridad Social de Pereira entrega una serie de recomendaciones sobre el embarazo en el contexto de la pandemia, recordándole a las gestantes que no deben dejar de asistir a sus controles prenatales con base a lo que cada una de las instituciones de salud han determinado para la atención de esta población, sea de forma presencial o de forma virtual, por telesalud. La funcionaria advirtió que las instituciones están brindando la atención a las gestantes y no se debe abandonar ninguna de las recomendaciones dadas en cada una de las instituciones de salud.
A las madres gestantes, les recordó la importancia de la lactancia materna una vez tengan a sus bebés, puesto que no hay una contraindicación para que no lo hagan, en caso de que una paciente gestante al momento del parto tenga sospecha o diagnóstico confirmado con Covid-19, debe proteger sus vías respiratorias al alimentar a su bebé.
De Igual manera, Saldarriaga le recomendó a dicha población que presente alto riesgo en su embarazo, por amenaza de aborto o de parto prematuro, abstenerse de tener relaciones sexuales, para proteger su salud y la de los gestantes que vienen en camino.
Es importante recordar la importancia del uso del preservativo no solamente en la prevención de un embarazo, sino, principalmente, para la prevención del contagio de enfermedades de transmisión sexual.
“Los fluidos de las relaciones sexuales no significan un riesgo de infección por coronavirus, sin embargo, los besos si representan un riesgo para el mismo, es por eso que es importante que si en la pareja hay una sospecha de Covid-19 o tenga un diagnóstico confirmado, se evite el contacto, incluyendo la relación sexual, en especial los besos”, puntualizó la líder de Salud Sexual y Reproductiva.
